January 1, 2010 began the Steve Becchetti 100 Year Memorial 2010 Advanced Senior Grand Master Disc Golf Tour.
My father, Steve Becchetti, was born in 1910 in Hibbing, and I was born in 1950, also in Hibbing. My father grew up in Old North Hibbing, where the Historic Hibbing Disc Golf Course is now located. The Becchetti Familly is an original sponsor of this great course since it's inception. I like to tell people that somewhere between holes 13 and 14, was once the backyard of my Grandfather's grocery store.
In addition to the MFA and PDGA, I am also a proud member of the Friends of Hansen Park DGC and the Hibbing DGC.

Hey just wanted to let you know I am throwing a doubles tournament this weekend at blue ribbon pines. There is a $40 a person entry that includes a chance to win a new car, discraft limited edition disc, towel, t shirt, golf, food and prizes. Trying to get the last minute word out as good as I can.
There are three divisions and some awesome BBQ that will follow.
Happy New Year Mr. Presidente.
For sure. I'd be happy to tell you all about the "dumps" and the "pits" as we old ore dogs used to call them. The Becchetti Family is a sponsor of the Historic North Hibbing DGC....afterall, part of the course used to be my old man's back yard.
OUr little rag tag group of Hansen Park disc golfers (Friends of Hansen Park DGC) has recently donated $630.00 to the New Brighton Park & Rec. The City has been maintaining the course and have repaired a number of goals (we love our cones). We have some of the best groomed fairways in the state. We felt it was about time we contributed to the cause.
Thanks go to Scotty, Eric, Craig, and others for getting this started. We expect it will be an annual thing. The City appreciates it and it seems we have a good coalition with them to continue maintaining and improving our historic "saucer" golf course in the jewel we call Hansen Park.
Hope to see you on the course in 2010 during the Memorial Tour.
