WHAT IS THE HISTORY OF THE MINNESOTA DOUBLES SERIES (MDS) EVENTS?
Chuck Kennedy started running the MDS in 1992 although the MFA had maybe 3-4 doubles events a year prior to that that weren't part of a series.
HOW CAN A MFA MEMBERSHIP BENEFIT ME WHEN COMPETING IN MDS EVENTS?
By being a MFA member on or before the day you compete in a MST or MDS event allows you to accumulate MST/MDS points. The top 33% of finishers in both Pro and AM divisions receive CASH PAYOUTS at the end-of-the-year awards that are held at the MFA Fall membership Meeting in November of each year.
HOW MANY EVENTS DO I HAVE TO PLAY TO QUALIFY TO BE IN THE RUNNING FOR MDS PAYOUTS?
One to compete for the division championship, but three (3) to compete for year end payouts. However, the more events you play in the better your chances are of finishing higher in the overall standings.
WHAT IF I PLAY IN SIX MDS EVENTS AND I HAVE A DIFFERENT PARTNER IN EVERY MDS EVENT I COMPETE IN, AM I AT AN ADVANTAGE FOR NOT HAVING THE SAME PARTNER?
Your individual score will be added up no matter who your partner is. It is possible for the two Doubles Champs in a given division to have never played MDS as double partners.
WHAT DOES THE COMING YEAR'S MST SCHEDULE LOOK LIKE?
